Considering the Cost of Space Exploration

Considering the universe in very large as it is and getting larger, and in comparison we are very much infinitesimally small by comparison, scale is incomprehensible and therefore not worth thinking about until comprehensible (which won’t be happening any time soon). Exploration of the universe is ultimately pointless and what if we do find intelligent life on other planets? What if that intelligent life has all the facts (and I mean all)? I for one wouldn’t want their vastly superior knowledge as I’m sure they would be bored of life as they have nothing more to find out (which is maybe why they’ve been abducting rednecks for the last century - because they have nothing better to do), and by giving us that knowledge would just bring us to that level of boredom. What if there are only two planets with intelligent life? Then their fun of abducting us would be gone and there would be no other species for us to abduct… except them. Which is why exploring the universe ultimately leads to the most boring war in the history of everything, leading to the genocide of all life in the universe.
